Privacy and Security in Machine Learning
Jiayu Wang (Computer Science-CST, Year 3) Supervisor: Dr. Bo Han (Department of Computer Science, HKBU)
I spent eight weeks conducting research on privacy and security in machine learning. Under the patient guidance of my supervisor, Dr. Han Bo, and his PhD students, my work involved not only grasping the theoretical foundations of privacy-preserving techniques through extensive literature reviews but also applying practical methodologies to evaluate and enhance the security of these models through experimental testing and data visualization.
Throughout the research period, I frequently encountered complex topics and questions, which required continuous learning and the application of new knowledge to develop optimal solutions. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Han Bo and the graduate students for their guidance, which helped me cultivate the skills necessary for independent research and clarified my future academic direction.
